The Sound Of Silence

Silence simply means the absence of sound.  Reading the title one might ask how is it even possible for silence to have sound in it isn't that a complete contradicting title itself as the title the sound of silence is an oxymoron.

Silence can be of various types like the comfortable silence is the one that is needed after a long hectic day to rejuvenate and relax. The silence when obtained gives peace of mind like sitting on terrace and looking at the stars at night or the silence present when you are sitting and staring at the water waves trying to touch land on the beach or sipping your morning tea without any disturbance. The uncomfortable silence at the dinner table knowing that the events before the dinner made the scenario a bit uncomfortable and mainly because of the tension in the environment. 

In a conversation, one person might be silent because the other person doesn't want to talk or hear out the options of the first one. The person might even be silent because he might want to control his anger issues. If a person suddenly goes silent in a conversation doesn't always mean that he is agreeing to you but can also mean that he doesn't want any confutation.

The awkward silence after introduction to the person or the happy silence when the person who you crave is sitting in the same room as you. Sometimes silence can spoil a relationship or even strengthen the bonds of the relations. The silence, once you enter a room, can even be followed by sad news like the demise of someone close to you or it can even be followed with a yell of surprise.

Silence can portray a lot of sentiments and a lot of remembering. The silence presents whilst looking at old photos,  videos or while going through slam books. Silence can hold different meaning even among people. Sometimes silence can also mean that the person wants to tell you something but doesn't have a clear word idea or maybe is waiting for the right time to speak. 

Silence can be a cue to understand. A silence can mean happiness , grief, relief , anger, comfort , awkwardness and a lot of emotions. A way of understanding someone can be aided by understanding the sound of silence of that person. In conclusion, these lyrics kind of summarize this whole blog post.
